Tomorrow 10.20 pm
6 digital prints installed temporarily in the inner city of Helsinki,
comissioned by SOK
Tomorrow 10.20 pm was a commission for a temporary public work by SOK. Installed in inner city Helsinki it presented an unfinished narrative of monitoring space. Being mounted on the façade of a major department store the images are shot to match both fashion photography and stills from a feature film.
The work was seen either from tramway stops or from moving vehicles, the different speeds of seeing added a sense of moving images, literally and from the spectators’ point of view. Daily approximately 60 000 people pass the street corner where the work was shown. The flow of people contrasted to the individual frames made the site a set up for a forthcoming event or a moment prolonged into waiting.
